Objective
Presentation of the members of the NETWORK and the original project to debate, define and prioritize contents of axes of work. The intense days of work allowed both reaching agreements and identification of the institutions in charge of the activities.
Activities prioritized
I. Curriculum design:
- Systematization and later diffusion of existing curriculum:
- To design a program of masters in Human Rights that includes both the European and Inter-American perspectives
- To maintain the cooperation between universities through the network of Legal Clinics, to develop methodologies and share strategies; to relate the work of Legal Clinics with Masters Programmes, etc.
- To develop courses on Human Rights and Responsibility; Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law (Right to Peace), Refugees Rights, International Criminal Law (and National); DESC; organization and management of an Online School for lawyers and non-lawyers; Studies of peace
- Establish the priorities for granting scholarships or promoting the exchange of professors and students.
II. Network meetings:
- To share the information about the management of the Network
- To update to the work plan
III Annual meetings subjects:
- Human Rights restrictions in the context of security policies of the States.
- Effectiveness of International Law within National systems.
- Measurement of fulfilment of international recommendations.
- Indicators to measure fulfilment of recommendations.
- Implementation of DESC.
IV. Materials and investigations:
- To compile existing bibliography in Latin America through the RIDH
- On national sentences and publications.
- The coordination committees will propose the profiles of the experts who will elaborate papers for the annual meetings.
V Translation:
- Book European System
- Cases of International Criminal Law
- Text book of the University for Peace, with cases and international jurisprudence
IV. Dissemination:
- Creation of an Online Journal and CD-room, in English and Spanish. (University of Gent and Los Andes University - Colombia,)
- Creation of a Documentation Centre on Human Rights (digital documentation). Compilation of national jurisprudence and legal sentences in Human Rights.
- Creation of an Online School on Human Rights. Recorded conferences. Group work of dissemination.
- Agreed stances after International forums.
